Updates: Germany’s President Signed “Marriage for All” Legalized #SameSexMarriage “It’s not about special rights but about equal rights” #MarriageEquality #LGBTQ+

Updates: As of July 21, 2017 – Germany’s Marriage Equality has been signed into law by President Frank-Walter Steinmeier which will take effect in October 1, 2017. Please click on the image below for more details of the story. (credit source: dw.com)

Indeed, on June 30, 2017, Germany’s Bundestag (Parliament) voted for the legalization of #SameSexMarriage across Germany.

Our Congratulations to the LGBTQ+ community across Germany. There is nothing more essential that to get recognized with equal marriage to those of the heterosexuals. More Power across the globe for #MarriageEquality.

“It is very positive for the self-esteem of gays and lesbians; it’s very important for people coming out, knowing that they have this equality,; and it sends clear message to any homophobic refugees coming to Germany; We have equality here.” – said Arndt Bächler, Counselor and Addiction Therapist, Berlin’s Gay Counselling Center.

“The law was not about ‘special rights for anyone but about equal rights’; the law would play significant role in combating discrimination, by helping make same-sex relationships a social norm in Germany, as they have been as many countries across Europe.  Last week, the German Parliament voted to void the convictions of 50,000 men punished under anti-gay law repealed in 1994.

I am certain that just a few years from now, as a society we will look back on this decision on Marriage Equality, and ask ourselves, “Why on earth did it take us so long?” – said, Christine Lüders, Director of Germany’s Anti-discrimination Agency (source credit: NYTimes)

Germany On a Path to Marriage Equality #SameSexMarriage

By: Jalenn Turre, Marketing, Business & Social Media Strategist

In a recent development, Germany is on its path for Marriage Equality.

Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel encouraged the Bundestag Members to weigh-in on “question for conscience”.  Her Parliamentary Leader Volker Kauder asked CDU’s members of the Bundestag to show for the vote. CDU (Christian Democratic Union of Germany) is Angela Merkel’s political party. The Social Democrats, Merkel’s  grand coalition partner are expected to table the voting sooner than September 24, 2017. (credit source: dw.com)

Speculations indicate that the vote may pass as majority of the Germans do not opposed to SameSex Marriage according to a study that was released  early this year by Germany’s Anti-discrimination Agency. Perhaps in the coming days or weeks Germany’s Marriage Equality will become a reality.

President Obama Issued the US Presidential Proclamation: LGBT Pride Month (June 2016)

“LGBT individuals deserve to know their country stands beside them.  That is why my Administration is striving to better understand the needs of LGBT adults and to provide affordable, welcoming, and supportive housing to aging LGBT Americans.  It is also why we oppose subjecting minors to the harmful practice of conversion therapy, and why we are continuing to promote equality and foster safe and supportive learning environments for all students.

We remain committed to addressing health disparities in the LGBT community — gay and bisexual men and transgender women of color are at a particularly high risk for HIV, and we have worked to strengthen our National HIV/AIDS Strategy to reduce new infections, increase access to care, and improve health outcomes for people living with HIV.” (source: WhiteHouse.gov)

Justice Issued on Same Sex Marriage in America – “The Constitution Grants Them That Right”

By: Jalenn Turre, Marketing, Business & Social Media Strategist

On June 26, 2015, at the second year anniversary from the time when Supreme Court of United States ruled DOMA as unconstitutional, the most anticipated ruling about Gay Marriage or Same-Sex Marriage decision by the US Supreme Court have equalized the constitutional rights among all married couples in America, delivered by Justice Anthony Kennedy. #LoveWins

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 on Friday that it is legal for all Americans, no matter their gender or sexual orientation, to marry the people they love. (source: huffingtonpost)

Here in the Huffington Post office we immediately broke out the pink champagne — and we’re not the only ones partying. (source: huffingtonpost)

“No longer may this liberty be denied,” said Justice Anthony Kennedy. (source: Associated Press)

Justice Anthony Kennedy, seen as a pivotal swing vote in the case, wrote the majority opinion. All four justices who voted against the ruling wrote their own dissenting opinions: Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito. (source: npr.org)

In the majority opinion, Kennedy again pointed to the idea that marriage was such a longstanding part of humanity, but he framed that differently, pointing out that the men and women who wanted the right to get married were only seeking to join this institution. (source: WashingtonPost)

Recently, IRS released that “legal same-sex marriages are recognized federally“.

What this means to international organizations that employ married members of the LGBT community?

“Adjusting all guidelines, policies and begin extending the benefits due to american married couples;  must be dealt with at the earliest to accommodate this most recent constitutional rights of same-sex couples”, said Juntee Terrenal, GMS, Founder of ReloNavigatorSM & Chair of IBBAsSM

ACLU will participate at the Bellingham’s Pride Parade 2015:

The actual Pride 2015 Festival begins Noon, on Saturday, July 11 with Family picnic at Bloedel Donovan Park, 2214 Electric Ave, Bellingham, Washington

Ireland becomes the beacon of equality and liberty to the rest of the world – Leo Varadkar

By: Juntee Terrenal, GMS, Strategic International Business Leader, Adviser & Coach

Been watching the Irish’ revolutionary approach in addressing the evolving international “Same Sex Marriage” as an integrated part of an equal society.  It is refreshing to learn of the mindset by the greater part of the Irish society; they have demonstrated in the last twenty four hours about their views on ‘marriage equality’ and how every LGBT member of the community must be respected equally.

“It was personal for a lot of people, not just gay men and lesbians, but for their friends and their families, their colleagues. It was a very personal decision and what I said in that interview was that I wanted to be an equal citizen in my own country and today I am.” – Leo Varadkar, Health Minister

Ireland is the first nation in the world that asked their citizens through popular voting regarding Same Sex Marriage. This action was a gamble between two sides; and the “Yes Vote” resulted of 62 percent among many Irish that went to the polls; celebrations are now on going waving the ‘rainbow LGBT flag‘ as the winners’ banner.

The Irish Society demonstrated to the whole world that it is possible to separate religious doctrines and beliefs against society’s equality, love, compassion and care among human beings.

2015 -Ireland_62percentYesReferendumResults

62 percent of Irish Voted Yes for Same Sex Marriage after counting 43 of 43 Constituencies, completed May 23, 2015.

“I’m a gay Irish-Catholic American and I’m here to bear witness to history and to show that the people from whom I descend are leading the way socially. I think that Europe and the rest of the world needs to wake up and realise where social liberalism is really happening. Look at the smoking ban and now this. It seems like if it can happen here, the argument against it anywhere is severely undermined.” – Jay Lassiter

“I would like to have seen that the rights of gay and lesbian men and women could have been respected without changing the definition of marriage. That hasn’t happened, but that is the world we live in today.” – said Archbishop Diarmuid Martin

US Vice President Joe Biden tweeted: “We welcome Ireland’s support for equality #LoveWins.”
