#London Celebrates 2017 Pride “LGBT+ are the antidote to the sadness”, said Mayor Sadiq Khan

Pete Earthlé, IdeasNConversations @IdeasN

On Saturday (London Time), thousands of people will celebrate the 2017 Pride Parade in London. Wishing everyone with great fun and enjoyments. Happy Pride to the entire community of LGBT+

For anyone who plans to see the parade, please scroll down to see the path where the parade will take place.

The 2017 London Pride Celebrations also marked the 50th year since the Sexual Offences Act 1967, which decriminalised homosexuality in England and Wales.

“It was in the Houses of Parliament that homosexuality was decriminalised, equal consent laws were introduced, the bigoted Section 28 was repealed, where civil partnership and ultimately equal marriage were adopted.

“This powerful institution, right at the heart of British democracy, has become a powerful tool for equality in recent times.

“The rainbow flag flying above serves as a testament to this legacy and a reflection of how far we have come as a community – with more LGBT+ politicians than any other country in the world.” – said David Geary, head of political engagement for Pride In London (credit source: telegraph.co.uk)

Germany On a Path to Marriage Equality #SameSexMarriage

By: Jalenn Turre, Marketing, Business & Social Media Strategist

In a recent development, Germany is on its path for Marriage Equality.

Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel encouraged the Bundestag Members to weigh-in on “question for conscience”.  Her Parliamentary Leader Volker Kauder asked CDU’s members of the Bundestag to show for the vote. CDU (Christian Democratic Union of Germany) is Angela Merkel’s political party. The Social Democrats, Merkel’s  grand coalition partner are expected to table the voting sooner than September 24, 2017. (credit source: dw.com)

Speculations indicate that the vote may pass as majority of the Germans do not opposed to SameSex Marriage according to a study that was released  early this year by Germany’s Anti-discrimination Agency. Perhaps in the coming days or weeks Germany’s Marriage Equality will become a reality.

More power to the #LGBTQ community of Germany. #lovewins #loveislove #MarriageEquality

This year the US #LoveWins celebrates its second year anniversary of Marriage Equality;

Milestones: Year One of #SameSexMarriage as a Constitutional Right, #LGBT Stonewall Monument, 30% Increase of #SameSexMarriages

Celebrating the #LGBTQ Milestone is essential. Last year, the highest court of the land, US Supreme Court stood up and spoke about the ‘Justice of Humanity’ where #SameSexMarriage was finally acknowledged as Constitutional Right.

On Monday, June 26, 2016, is the First Anniversary when Marriage Equality became a Law in the United States. This Month of June is the #PrideMonth. Parades and numerous activities are being held across the country and around the world in celebration of the #2016LGBTPride.

Recently, President Obama also designated as the First LGBT National Monument The Stonewall National Monument” in New York.

Since the US Supreme Court decided that #SameSexMarriage is a Constitutional Right between two people. A dramatic increase of 30 percent #samesexmarriages from 8 percent in 2012, per survey conducted by Prudential Financial Inc.

When there were successes, tragedy occurs along the way … the most recent victim of tragedy was the #OrlandoMassacre where 49 members of the LGBTQ community died.

“Stand up to #LGBT+ #Homophobia and #Bullying Wherever We See It”

By: Jalenn Turre, Marketing, Business & Social Media Strategist

Few days post the #OrlandoMassacre, the “Attitude” released today a brief insight about Prince William’s conversations regarding #homophobia and #bullying among #LGBT+, a historical moment as the first Royal who posed as a cover of the UK’s leading online LGBT focused magazine.

“The young gay, lesbian and transgender individuals I met through Attitude are truly brave to speak out and to give hope to people who are going through terrible bullying right now.

Their sense of strength and optimism should give us all encouragement to stand up to bullying wherever we see it.” – HRH Prince William, Duke of Cambridge

“He put us all at ease despite the fact that we were talking about some intense and sometimes harrowing things. One of those was a mother, Mena Houghton, whose son Mark Houghton died in 2010 at age 27 from an unintentional overdose after years of being homophobically bullied at school. He was great with her and with all of us.” –  said Matthew Todd, Editor, Attitude (source: People)

49 #LGBTQs Died: Our Hearts Are Broken: Prayers to the Families and Victims at the #Orlando #Pulse #Massacre

Notes: The number of the #OrlandoMassacre victims has been corrected; it is now reflected as 49 excluding the hater / terrorist attacker to the #LGBTQs in Pulse.

The despicable shooting at the #Pulse Nightclub in #Orlando is the latest #hatecrime and #terror towards the #LGBTQ community. When will this #hate STOP!

There are no better words to describe our thoughts to the victims’ families and prayers to all brothers and sisters who perished. Our continuing prayers too for the injured that they will recover from this traumatic experience.

Pres Obama LGBTHate_Terror

“This is a specially heart breaking day for all of our friends, our fellow Americans lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender; the shooter targeted a night club where people came together to be with friends, to  dance and to sing, and to lift, the place where they were attacked was more than night club as a place of solidarity and empowerment; where people come together to raise awareness, to speak their minds and to advocate their civil rights.

This is a sobering reminder, that attacks on any American regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation is an attack on all of us, and on the fundamental values of equality and dignity  that define us as a country. And no act of hate or terror will ever change who we are  or the values that make us as Americans.” – President Barack Obama

President Obama Issued the US Presidential Proclamation: LGBT Pride Month (June 2016)

“LGBT individuals deserve to know their country stands beside them.  That is why my Administration is striving to better understand the needs of LGBT adults and to provide affordable, welcoming, and supportive housing to aging LGBT Americans.  It is also why we oppose subjecting minors to the harmful practice of conversion therapy, and why we are continuing to promote equality and foster safe and supportive learning environments for all students.

We remain committed to addressing health disparities in the LGBT community — gay and bisexual men and transgender women of color are at a particularly high risk for HIV, and we have worked to strengthen our National HIV/AIDS Strategy to reduce new infections, increase access to care, and improve health outcomes for people living with HIV.” (source: WhiteHouse.gov)
