Sustaining Human Capitals for Continuing Success of the Organization Internationally

By: Juntee Terrenal, GMS, Strategic International Business Leader, Adviser & Coach

The challenge about ‘sustainable human capitals’ across industries is a century old issue of every size of organization. This keeps re-occurring frequently because of inefficiency within organizations such as low employee morale, internal politics, poor target results of the organization, unclear communication, limited opportunities of potential leaders, cross culture insensitivity and adaptability, inequitable performance merits, poor policies and the list keep getting longer.

Three criteria to overcome this issue:

  • Unless leaders of today will dramatically change their approach on how to relate with the people they work with; this issue about unsustainable human capital will never get resolved
  • Develop people managers instead of managers of tasks, calendars, events and goods or objects
  • Real Leaders must value people, put importance on their abilities and talents that translate efficiency to best results and productivity; an essential piece is rewarding them with commensurate compensation including recognition and reinforcing family values. These important factors were over shadowed by technologies as a result of evolution, advancement and intentional business, corporate and personal greed.

Answering the Intimidating Hard Questions Transform Your Results Better

By: Juntee Terrenal, GMS, Strategic International Business Leader, Adviser & Coach

Receiving difficult and intimidating questions in the business environment or at any international setting will sometimes create self -doubt particularly when one doesn’t have adequate competency in handling these types of unexpected yet complex inquiries.

On the other hand, individuals who are professionally matured, risk-takers and competent they welcome these questions with pleasure; it will challenge their abilities; enable their critical-thinking prowess; they deal with calm behavior and answer them appropriately; resulting to a concrete path of better successes.  #competency #ideasnconversations #leadership #businessacumen #results-driven #experience

Four Considerations in Overcoming Hard Questions:

  1. At any time you don’t know how to answer certain difficult questions and you have time to think about a response, consider seeking the insights of more experienced individuals

  2. Browse comparable insights by conducting a brief yet expedient research – there may be some published opinions that may be relevant to the topic

  3. Readiness to be honest; express your inadequate competency and knowledge about the matter

  4. Alternatively, hire an external consultant who will coach you in determining the appropriate answer to these types of questions

Social Media Opportunities Can Either Be Failures or Successes

By: Jalenn Turre, Marketing, Business & Social Media Strategist

Today’s trend is to be socially adaptable within the social media environment. Majority of the people embraced social media to either learn something, enjoy its privileges and or experience the conflicting information that it offers. There are many options within every platform.

Take it or leave it because at the end of the day, what matters are your personal or professional intents that you wanted to achieve within a particular medium. #socialmedia #IBBAs #EPTN #internationalbusinesses #ideasnconversations #leadership #strategy

_2015ReloSocialMedia

Social engagements within social media is by sharing and discussing ideas, opportunities and intentions with different individuals. There are two lanes within social media and we practice in driving our efforts within these two lanes. One is sharing/giving information and the other is the opportunity of receiving such as retweets or leads that resulted from an established relationship.

Practicing passive behavior with the use of ‘Favorite icon’ is not a result-oriented activity. When you like something that was shared, get engaged beyond favorite, participate in discussing what was said or shared. Take the liberty of capitalizing to nurture a possible relationship that will result to business opportunities.

Best Options in using social media:

  1. Understand exactly what you wanted to do within social media.

    • Answer a question for yourself, the Why and the How of using it
  2. Identify the things that you would like to accomplish

  3. Review the functionality and scope of each platform

    • How does it relate to your particular needs?
  4. Understand the language of the platform

    • The principles behind it
    • The types of people that will be within the platform
  5. Create a plan that illustrate your measurable goals

    • Including techniques in achieving the goal(s)

    • Anticipated return of your invested time and efforts (ROI)

    • Alternative approach when it fails, how to exit from it or modify your techniques

Many individuals are gambling within the social media promise without understanding exactly how it influences their specific endeavors in order to achieve success.

“It is important to comprehend that what works for ‘Mary’ of ABC company,  may work for ‘James’ at CDE company, however it doesn’t work with ‘Gwen’ at EFG company; particularly consider the differences of industry and focus of each organization. In many respects, relate to it as a business tool where you need to be realistic in accepting results that could fail or be successful.” – said Juntee Terrenal, GMS, Chair, International Businesses BoardSM(IBBAsSM) and Founder/Principal of ReloNavigatorSM

By: Jalenn Turre, Marketing, Business & Social Media Strategist

Today the buzz continues surrounding networking, social media including the traditional marketing tricks or perhaps the old-fashioned way of conducting business. What do these mean to you and your objectives in real life, personal or business / organization and internationally?

Regardless of one’s intent and objectives, it is essential to determine what would be your possible results. By knowing it, you will be able to create impactful techniques that will alleviate favorable results.

“The Influencers of Quality Results in Networking and Social Media”

The following pointers were put together after gathering useful insights from our experts in our international teams, perhaps their ideas will help you in refocusing the achievement of your goals effectively;

  1. Before joining social media group or attending a networking group that is hosting an event or any type of event;

    1. invest some time to learn about the background of the group if it benefits your intents and purposes
    2. understand who the facilitator and their business
    3. where possible or applicable, have an open mind of learning about others who normally attend the events
  2. People who attend these various events have different needs to accomplish;

    1. listen actively: watch of signals, actions, phrases used, and articulation – you can determine so and so whether it is worth investing additional time or not
    2. rise above those who will try to impose their personal views, these are not the right connections to be with
  3. Create an influencing opportunity; be ready to discuss objectively about your goals in attending the event;

    1. do not give a sales pitch, however share why you are attending with reasons that are in line with the host’s objectives
    2. practice active listening (see item 2.1 above)
  4. Share only with particular individuals the things that are informative yet essential that will influence that person to ask more questions about you and your business;

    1. highlight your competency that are easily understood by the person you are speaking with
    2. use words that are action and concrete oriented
    3. avoid using technical term that will make your listener turn off his/her listening interest
  5. Demonstrate courtesy and professionalism; it will get the same respect and integrity;

    1. share only your business card to someone with equal interest
    2. do not tell someone you call him/her when you think there are no points of interest between your intent and theirs
    3. many smart individuals can decipher behaviors that are respectable and untrustworthy

More Effective As One Voice That Matter – The Kennedy Opinion!

By: Juntee Terrenal, GMS, Strategic International Business Leader, Adviser & Coach

“Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said; “More effective as one voice that matter – the Kennedy Opinion” This comment was in reference to the recent Supreme Court landmark decision pertaining to Marriage Equality across the 50 United States of America. #MarriageEquality #LoveWins #SameLove

_2015 Do ItTogether_MakeitShort

The time pressure in the case was excruciating, with the court issuing an opinion just a day after oral arguments, and, as Ginsburg put it, the four liberal members of the court “were unable to get together and write one opinion.” Indeed, each wrote a separate dissent, resulting in such confusion that, as she pointed out, some early press accounts erroneously reported that the decision was 7-2, not as it in fact was, 5-4.” – source: NPR.org

On Gardening: Understanding Carbon Cycle When Gardening Can Help in Slowing Climate Change

By: Juntee Terrenal, GMS, Strategic International Business Leader, Adviser & Coach

Gardening is one among the simple options that can help in fighting the progressing Climate Change. We can begin in our own backyard or at least in our planters regardless of the area where we live; in a major metropolis, suburbia or country side.

Everyone can participate in our own little ways. #savetheplanet #climatechange #gardening

Juntee Terrenal, GMS, Founder of ReloNavigatorSM & Chair of IBBAsSM has sought permission from the Author, Tom Karwin; of which he granted re-publication of his article. The article first appeared in Monterey Herald dated July 3, 2015. Please click the provided link to see the original source.

Tom illustrated in his ‘restoring your soil’ article that is found below about the Carbon cycle affecting our environment; the role of soil, its complex components and implication to plants; and provided helpful concepts that others can integrate in their gardening activities;

Tom Karwin writes a regular column at Monterey Herald; his articles are also documented at On Gardening;  is president of the Friends of the UC Santa Cruz Arboretum and a Lifetime UC Master Gardener (Certified 1999-2009). A board member of the California Native Garden Society, a long-time member of the Garden Writers Association.

On Gardening: How restoring your soil can help fight climate change by Tom Karwin

_Gardening Soil

The threat of climate change has become a concern among scientists, environmentalists and gardeners (who might wear all three of these hats, of course). In the search for a solution to this problem, these three interested parties have common ground.

Our climate is changing as a result of a disruption of the carbon cycle. On Earth, a fixed amount of carbon moves through different forms: liquid, solid or gas.

Carbon enters the atmosphere from several sources, including respiration and decay of animals and plants, eruptions of volcanoes and releases of dissolved carbon dioxide (CO2) from the oceans.

Plants absorb CO2 from the atmosphere and use photosynthesis to release oxygen back into the atmosphere and convert carbon into sugars that support the plant’s above-ground growth. At the same time, up to 40 percent of the CO2 goes to the plant’s roots, to feed soil microbes. The microbes help the plant acquire nutrients through its roots, and lock (“sequester”) carbon into the soil for very long periods.

The carbon cycle supports Earth’s climate and enables the growth of plants and all other living things.

This complex natural process balances the amount of carbon in liquid, solid and gas forms. Vast amounts of carbon are stored in the soil and fossil fuels, and much smaller amounts are stored in the atmosphere, the oceans and plants.

During the Industrial Revolution (about 1760 to 1830), humans began burning fossil fuels, cutting down forests, draining wetlands, converting grasslands to large-scale crops, paving paradise and applying synthetic chemical fertilizers and pesticides. These activities have been disrupting the carbon cycle and altering this important balance.

The consequences include degraded soil with reduced ability to capture carbon, an excess of carbon in the atmosphere and the acidification of the oceans, none of which is beneficial to living things (including us).

The broad term, climate change, encompasses all of these negative effects.

Restoring the natural carbon cycle could reverse climate change.

Restoration requires feeding the soil with organic matter and planting cover crops to protect the soil from temperature extremes and erosion. In short, the solution is based upon regenerative, organic agriculture.

This strategy must be employed on a global scale, but we all should understand the carbon cycle and support this process of soil restoration in our own gardens and in our individual contributions to relevant public policy. Substantial private interests are invested in fossil fuels, “conventional” monoculture agriculture that depends upon synthetic chemicals, and other industrial methods that are changing our climate. They can be expected to resist this strategy of working with nature, so eventual success requires our vision and long-term commitment.

Each gardener could participate first in his or her own garden. That would be a fine way to celebrate our independence from, in this context, commercial interests.

Justice Issued on Same Sex Marriage in America – “The Constitution Grants Them That Right”

By: Jalenn Turre, Marketing, Business & Social Media Strategist

On June 26, 2015, at the second year anniversary from the time when Supreme Court of United States ruled DOMA as unconstitutional, the most anticipated ruling about Gay Marriage or Same-Sex Marriage decision by the US Supreme Court have equalized the constitutional rights among all married couples in America, delivered by Justice Anthony Kennedy. #LoveWins

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 on Friday that it is legal for all Americans, no matter their gender or sexual orientation, to marry the people they love. (source: huffingtonpost)

Here in the Huffington Post office we immediately broke out the pink champagne — and we’re not the only ones partying. (source: huffingtonpost)

“No longer may this liberty be denied,” said Justice Anthony Kennedy. (source: Associated Press)

Justice Anthony Kennedy, seen as a pivotal swing vote in the case, wrote the majority opinion. All four justices who voted against the ruling wrote their own dissenting opinions: Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito. (source: npr.org)

In the majority opinion, Kennedy again pointed to the idea that marriage was such a longstanding part of humanity, but he framed that differently, pointing out that the men and women who wanted the right to get married were only seeking to join this institution. (source: WashingtonPost)

Recently, IRS released that “legal same-sex marriages are recognized federally“.

What this means to international organizations that employ married members of the LGBT community?

“Adjusting all guidelines, policies and begin extending the benefits due to american married couples;  must be dealt with at the earliest to accommodate this most recent constitutional rights of same-sex couples”, said Juntee Terrenal, GMS, Founder of ReloNavigatorSM & Chair of IBBAsSM

By: Juntee Terrenal, GMS, Strategic International Business Leader, Adviser & Coach

New Graduates add color and diversity in every type of international workplace environment. Young and developing mindsets engage proactively with energy and extraordinary abilities. They offer a fresh outlooks that speak about their generation and most recent scholastic and practical learning; that many experienced generation oftentimes chuckle as a defense mechanism to their security.

A handful of them if not majority will be looking for employment adventures outside the United States and across international zones. That means, each of them who like to go for international adventure must gear up in learning the variances of cultures in order for them to be successful.

Welcoming the new set of minds within various industry will make big difference economically, professionally, personally and internationally.  It is the moment for the experienced professionals across industries to mentor them with various options that will make their result becomes effective, realistic yet beneficial to the overall objective of the organization that hire them.

Employers will be competing of hiring those who are personable and upfront in finding a job. However, there are twists and turns for the employers in sustaining their will be new found hires. The millennials demonstrate a vicarious mindset, working styles, personal principles and professional outlooks and needs; notwithstanding that they are adventurous.

“they are relatively unattached to organized politics and religion, linked by social media, burdened by debt, distrustful of people, in no rush to marry— and optimistic about the future.”

Every employer must adapt collaboratively and mutually in order to justify their attractiveness to these no-holds-barred young professionals.   They may be young but their potentials are high yet beyond employer’s expectations.

Time is the essence with quality of inputs that will keep their interests;  that will keep them into the realms of your organization; they will become an integrated yet results-oriented  players within.

Once again, my entire teams at ReloNavigator and IBBAs wishes the best of successes to every graduate of 2015 in pursuing their dreams, whatever and wherever that may be. Congratulations for completing those papers and requirements to graduate.

But learning doesn’t stop from there – it is only the beginning of one’s professional chapter in life.  Godspeed.

Contents are personally & professionally influenced – Creativity Exist with a Purpose

By: Jalenn Turre, Marketing, Business & Social Media Strategist

We value the creativity of individuals whose content illustrate their personality, creative minds and objectivity. Contents are also an expression of one’s perspectives regardless of concepts and ideology. However, a content that is not ROI-driven is lame and diminishes results.

Our Founder always tell us that “creating an impactful content that will engage audience will be the absolute objective.  You don’t need everyone to read or follow your content all the time but those who have similar intellectual abilities would; those that have a need of your delivery-driven expertise would; and those who like to learn strategic better views and international ideas while acquiring additional knowledge will keep following you with great experiences.”

Canada also implemented this program for the conveniences of frequent travelers. In a recent travel to Australia, this same program exist there as well. First hand experience; it was a breeze without issues; conveniently in and out of the airport without delays.

For those who are only crossing the border between Canada and USA – the more popular program is called Nexus. This is also an equally great program for business people and individuals who are crossing the borders all the time.  For Americans in the Washington State who would like to get a Nexus card, there is a new office for application that is based in Blaine, WA.

By: Juntee Terrenal, GMS, Strategic International Business Leader, Adviser & Coach

“Our government is committed to facilitating legitimate trade and travel, including supporting Canada’s air industry efforts to attract more transit business to the country.

This expansion of the China Transit Program will help generate more business for our airlines and airports, and could potentially lead to the opening of new routes and destinations, which would benefit all travellers, including Canadians.” said, Chris Alexander, Canada’s Citizenship and Immigration Minister

“YVR’s goal is to connect B.C. proudly to the world by becoming a world-class sustainable connecting hub. This is huge step in the right direction for YVR, British Columbia and Canada. The expansion of the China Transit Program will make YVR more attractive to transiting travellers and ultimately increase YVR’s air service and passenger growth.” said, Craig Richmond, President & CEO, Vancouver Airport Authority.

Today, May, 19, 2015, Canada’s Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander announced at the Vancouver International Airport the expansion of the China Transit Program (CTP).
