Updates: Germany’s President Signed “Marriage for All” Legalized #SameSexMarriage “It’s not about special rights but about equal rights” #MarriageEquality #LGBTQ+

Pete Earthlé, IdeasNConversations @IdeasN

Updates: As of July 21, 2017 – Germany’s Marriage Equality has been signed into law by President Frank-Walter Steinmeier which will take effect in October 1, 2017. Please click on the image below for more details of the story. (credit source: dw.com)

Indeed, on June 30, 2017, Germany’s Bundestag (Parliament) voted for the legalization of #SameSexMarriage across Germany.

Our Congratulations to the LGBTQ+ community across Germany. There is nothing more essential that to get recognized with equal marriage to those of the heterosexuals. More Power across the globe for #MarriageEquality.

“It is very positive for the self-esteem of gays and lesbians; it’s very important for people coming out, knowing that they have this equality,; and it sends clear message to any homophobic refugees coming to Germany; We have equality here.” – said Arndt Bächler, Counselor and Addiction Therapist, Berlin’s Gay Counselling Center.

“The law was not about ‘special rights for anyone but about equal rights’; the law would play significant role in combating discrimination, by helping make same-sex relationships a social norm in Germany, as they have been as many countries across Europe.  Last week, the German Parliament voted to void the convictions of 50,000 men punished under anti-gay law repealed in 1994.

I am certain that just a few years from now, as a society we will look back on this decision on Marriage Equality, and ask ourselves, “Why on earth did it take us so long?” – said, Christine Lüders, Director of Germany’s Anti-discrimination Agency (source credit: NYTimes)

Who Says Drinking Coffee Is Unhealthy “Do you drink coffee?”

By: Jalenn Turre, Marketing, Business & Social Media Strategist

“I like my two cups of coffee everyday before starting my day. Then another cup of coffee during afternoon snacks or after dinner. With that three cups a day, I am in alignment with the recently and newly published research at the Annals of Internal Medicine.  Where it said; 3 cups of drinking coffee daily is beneficial to the body.”

Advantages of drinking coffee:

Joe Tidy, a Sky News Correspondent wrote;  “Men who downed at least three cups of coffee a day were 18% less likely to die from any cause than non-coffee drinkers. Women drinking the same amount benefited less, but still experienced an 8% reduction in mortality over the period measured.” (credit source: news.sky.com)

In the same article it says; “the researchers found that the group with the highest consumption of coffee had a lower risk for all-causes of death, compared to those who did not drink coffee.”

Research Conclusion:

“Coffee drinking was associated with reduced risk for death from various causes. This relationship did not vary by country”. (source credit: Annals of Internal Medicine)

Just Wondering What Others’ Experiences When They Moved With Their Kitty-cat? “Mandy and I on the Move”

Pete Earthlé, IdeasNConversations @IdeasN

I come across of the post about Mandy and I on the Move, so I thought I will ask some questions from others who may have experienced relocating with their lovely cat/s.

We’ve moved to a new location. Moving in day was a bit stressful for Mandy since I was everywhere so she found a place to sleep and escape the commotion on the upper closet shelf in the bedroom. The full moon lit the night so brightly and the rainbow aura around the moon was irresistible. […]

For anyone who plans to see the parade, please scroll down to see the path where the parade will take place.

The 2017 London Pride Celebrations also marked the 50th year since the Sexual Offences Act 1967, which decriminalised homosexuality in England and Wales.

“It was in the Houses of Parliament that homosexuality was decriminalised, equal consent laws were introduced, the bigoted Section 28 was repealed, where civil partnership and ultimately equal marriage were adopted.

“This powerful institution, right at the heart of British democracy, has become a powerful tool for equality in recent times.

“The rainbow flag flying above serves as a testament to this legacy and a reflection of how far we have come as a community – with more LGBT+ politicians than any other country in the world.” – said David Geary, head of political engagement for Pride In London (credit source: telegraph.co.uk)

Happy 150th Anniversary Canada

By: Jalenn Turre, Marketing, Business & Social Media Strategist

Canada, Our best wishes for more 150 Anniversaries that will come …

We celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation. We come together as Canadians to celebrate the achievements of our great country, reflect on our past and present, and look boldly toward our future. – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

Statement of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau;

“Canada’s story stretches back long before Confederation, to the first people who worked, loved, and built their lives here, and to those who came here centuries later in search of a better life for their families. In 1867, the vision of Sir George-Étienne Cartier and Sir John A. Macdonald, among others, gave rise to Confederation – an early union, and one of the moments that have come to define Canada.

“In the 150 years since, we have continued to grow and define ourselves as a country. We fought valiantly in two world wars, built the infrastructure that would connect us, and enshrined our dearest values – equality, diversity, freedom of the individual, and two official languages – in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. These moments, and many others, shaped Canada into the extraordinary country it is today – prosperous, generous, and proud.

“At the heart of Canada’s story are millions of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. They exemplify what it means to be Canadian: ambitious aspirations, leadership driven by compassion, and the courage to dream boldly. Whether we were born here or have chosen Canada as our home, this is who we are.

“Ours is a land of Indigenous Peoples, settlers, and newcomers, and our diversity has always been at the core of our success. Canada’s history is built on countless instances of people uniting across their differences to work and thrive together. We express ourselves in French, English, and hundreds of other languages, we practice many faiths, we experience life through different cultures, and yet we are one country. Today, as has been the case for centuries, we are strong not in spite of our differences, but because of them.

“As we mark Canada 150, we also recognize that for many, today is not an occasion for celebration. Indigenous Peoples in this country have faced oppression for centuries. As a society, we must acknowledge and apologize for past wrongs, and chart a path forward for the next 150 years – one in which we continue to build our nation-to-nation, Inuit-Crown, and government-to-government relationship with the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Nation.

“Our efforts toward reconciliation reflect a deep Canadian tradition – the belief that better is always possible. Our job now is to ensure every Canadian has a real and fair chance at success. We must create the right conditions so that the middle class, and those working hard to join it, can build a better life for themselves and their families.

“Great promise and responsibility await Canada. As we look ahead to the next 150 years, we will continue to rise to the most pressing challenges we face, climate change among the first ones. We will meet these challenges the way we always have – with hard work, determination, and hope.

“On the 150th anniversary of Confederation, we celebrate the millions of Canadians who have come together to make our country the strong, prosperous, and open place it is today. On behalf of the Government of Canada, I wish you and your loved ones a very happy Canada Day.” (credit source: PM Website)

Germany On a Path to Marriage Equality #SameSexMarriage

By: Jalenn Turre, Marketing, Business & Social Media Strategist

In a recent development, Germany is on its path for Marriage Equality.

Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel encouraged the Bundestag Members to weigh-in on “question for conscience”.  Her Parliamentary Leader Volker Kauder asked CDU’s members of the Bundestag to show for the vote. CDU (Christian Democratic Union of Germany) is Angela Merkel’s political party. The Social Democrats, Merkel’s  grand coalition partner are expected to table the voting sooner than September 24, 2017. (credit source: dw.com)

Speculations indicate that the vote may pass as majority of the Germans do not opposed to SameSex Marriage according to a study that was released  early this year by Germany’s Anti-discrimination Agency. Perhaps in the coming days or weeks Germany’s Marriage Equality will become a reality.

#WorldPressFreedom: “Critical Minds for Critical Times”

Pete Earthlé, IdeasNConversations @IdeasN

“The theme of this year’s World Press Freedom Day is ‘Critical Minds for Critical Times: Media’s role in advancing peaceful, just and inclusive societies.’ It reminds us that peace, justice and inclusiveness are foundational values for any society that empowers individual citizens and promotes government transparency and accountability.” – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

Every year, 3 May is a date which celebrates the fundamental principles of press freedom; to evaluate press freedom around the world, to defend the media from attacks on their independence and to pay tribute to journalists who have lost their lives in the exercise of their profession.

National celebrations take place each year to commemorate this Day. UNESCO leads the worldwide celebration by identifying the global thematic and organizing the main event in different parts of world every year.

The Freedom of the Press is essential as a guardian of democracy across borders. The world needs to collaborate and sustain the #PressFreedom.

“I Don’t Know About You, I Am Not a Corporate Slave …”

By: Jalenn Turre, Marketing, Business & Social Media Strategist

Today, corporate slaves are everywhere. It is an accepted culture within corporate world. People have embraced this practice as their status within the parlance of work because they need the money that they will earn in order to survive; or live a lifestyle that they wanted to be.

Pope Francis is a very outspoken critic of corporate slavery as he pronounced it in August 2015. Please click on the source link below to read the article’s content.
