International Perspective:

There are 175 nations that signed the Paris Climate Accord Friday, at the United Nations Headquarters.

Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said; “Today is an historic day,” “This is by far the largest number of countries ever to sign an international agreement on a single day.”

US Secretary of State John Kerry said; “When enough people come out and make their voices heard, when they turn their policy into a voting issue, when they work together toward the same real goal, then measurable change is possible”

France President François Hollande stated; “France should be an example to show that it wants to be the first – or one of the first – not just to ratify but also to implement the contents of the Agreement”

Leonardo DiCaprio challenged; “We can congratulate each other today, but it will mean absolutely nothing if you return to your countries and push beyond the promises of this historic agreement; now is the time for bold, unprecedented action. My friends, look at the delegates around you, it is time to ask each other, which side of history will you be on?”
