Martin Luther King Jr Day – USA Holiday

January 19, 2015 is a US Federal Holiday. It is the day to remember the legacy that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has fought for us, being an American. He was born on January 15, 1928 and was assassinated in April 4th 1968. He stood for justice and equality as a civil rights leader.

“I am in Birmingham because injustice is here,’’ he wrote in the letter, dated April 16, 1963. “… We have waited for more than 340 years for our constitutional and God given rights. The nations of Asia and Africa are moving with jetlike speed toward gaining political independence, but we still creep at horse and buggy pace toward gaining a cup of coffee at a lunch counter.’’ – said Martin Luther King III, noted of his father’s Letter from Birmingham Jail.
